What is it with me and bridges? Might it be I’m looking to cross some kind of personal divide? I’ll have to ring up my friend, a disgruntled former tarot card reader who lives in Houston, for his take on the issue.

I went out for the evening, the D300 in hand, looking to shoot some images. I end up at Key Span Park, home of the New York Mets minor league affiliate the Brooklyn Cyclones. I’m walking around the park, the Cyclones were on the road that night, and I turn up the side of the ballpark and discover this 9-11 Memorial. I was kind of stunned. There, on the bottom row was a plaque for Captain Vinny Brunton. He was a guy I knew, a man I knew, and we lost him on 9-11 but seeing him on that wall, almost by accident, was…just sad all over again.
